Patriarche Père & Fils is one of Burgundy's oldest and most respected houses with over 240 years of winemaking tradition. This Pinot Noir is vinified using traditional Burgundian methods, with 15 days of vatting and stainless steel aging to preserve its bright, fruit-driven profile. In the glass, it reveals an intense red colour with purple reflections, opening to a bouquet of fresh red berries - strawberry, raspberry, blackcurrant - and a delicate hint of spice and vanilla. Light-bodied yet structured, it offers a smooth texture and vibrant acidity, delivering a refined balance of fruit and freshness. Subtle earthy undertones and fine tannins round out the elegant finish. Since its first release in 1959, Penfolds Bin 28 has stood as a benchmark for warm-climate Australian Shiraz. Originally sourced from the renowned Kalimna Vineyard in the Barossa Valley, it has evolved into a multi-region blend, with Barossa fruit continuing to provide the rich, generous character that defines this enduring classic. The 2024 vintage opens with layered aromas of black tea, pipe tobacco and worn leather, complemented by hints of Black Forest cake, dried fig and milk chocolate. The palate is bright and energetic, showcasing mulberry, boysenberry and raspberry alongside subtle savoury notes and a touch of vanilla spice. Juicy acidity and fine cocoa-dusted tannins bring structure and length, delivering a bold yet balanced Shiraz that drinks beautifully now or will reward careful cellaring through to 2045.

Often affectionately known as 'Baby Grange', Bin 389 was first created by legendary Penfolds winemaker Max Schubert in 1960, combining the structure of Cabernet Sauvignon with the richness of Shiraz. The 2024 vintage carries that legacy forward with a generous, weighty palate of dark chocolate, cherry liqueur and blueberry, complemented by sweet spice, tobacco leaf and savoury ironstone notes. Fine, silken tannins and fresh acidity provide balance and length, while maturation in barrels previously used for Grange adds another layer of character. Matured in seasoned oak barrels for an average of at least three years, it remains the cornerstone of the Penfolds fortified collection. Rich yet approachable, Club Tawny opens with inviting aromas of caramel, roasted nuts and ripe plum, lifted by a subtle hint of aniseed. The palate is soft and mellow, with sweet plum and currant flavours balanced by fine spirit and fresh acidity. Gentle notes of oak-aged nuttiness add depth, leading to a smooth, generous finish that has made this classic Tawny a favourite for decades.
