Richard Emerson loves it when his ears burn. It either means he's being talked about, or he's drinking one of his absolute favourites, a chilli chocolate stout. This luxurious, decadent brew is made with OCHO cocoa nibs, red chillies, and Belgian yeast, giving it a deliciously complex rich plum, raisin, and chocolate flavour, a smooth velvety texture, and of course a warming spicy finish. Don't worry, while Deaf by Chocolate may make your ears tingle a little, it won't actually make you deaf.

Don't play with your beer, they said. Oops. Emerson's love playing with Bird Dog. Having brewed a Gin Dog, a chilly dog and even a Little Bird they are now very excited to bring you Dirty Bird. Dirty in the best possible hazy way. All the flavours you would expect from the original, just a little sweeter, and a tad more citrus and tropical, with a slightly piney finish. Best served in a clean glass.

A hallucinatory, mind-bending, consciousness-expanding, dream-like experience is not what you'll find in this can. It's just a beer, man. But, this cloudy IPA does have a gnarly hit of Riwaka, Simcoe, and Mosaic hops, with a tropical citrus flavour, and a totally piney finish. At least it's a trip for your taste-buds. Far out.

Emerson's are thrilled to have made the Otago Nuggets and Southern Hoiho team this season. While they do the hooping, Emerson's do the hopping. Sending out an all-star, all-American line-up of Citra, Mosaic and Cascade hops, to keep your taste buds on their toes. Hoops is the perfect balance of malt and hop, with aromas and flavours of berry, tropical fruit and pine. You might just be looking at this year's MVB.

This is more than a beer. It's a monument to the late, great Jean Pierre Dufour. Food scientist. Biophysicist. Beer legend. Most years on his birthday, Emerson's release a Belgian style beer in his honour. This one's a Belgian Strong Ale. A strong dark ale fermented using Belgian yeast, with cherry, clove, dried fruit flavours and a spicy finish. Sometimes we drink to remember.

This mini bar contains a carefully curated selection of favourites, so you can take your taste-buds on a journey, even while you're on a journey. Just make sure you keep it somewhere cold - this isn't actually a real fridge.

Commiserations. We regret to inform you that you haven't made the Naughty List. You're officially Nice. If it's any consolation, this beer is no less naughty. A big, bold Hazy Double IPA, with intense citrus and tropical flavours, and blueberry aromas. At 7.8% ABV it's a good one to share, perhaps with one of your Nice friends.

The Orange Roughy's scientific name is Hoplostethus atlanticus. Which roughly translates as, hazy, hoppy pale ale with a tropical fruit aroma, citrus flavour, and malty backbone. In the past, the roughy has been subject to unsustainable practices - completely selling out. Thanks to the hard work of our brewers, numbers are now on the rise. Careful you don't exceed your quota, though.

This Hazy IPA was brewed by the women of Emerson's to celebrate International Women's Day. So it's no surprise it was made with passion. Two kinds of passion, in fact. Fresh passionfruit juice and Abstrax Skyfarer Passionfruit went into the brew with Mosaic, Citra and Simcoe hops. It's intensely tart, tangy and fruity. The kind of flavour you'll feel strongly about. Passionate, even.

From the Land of the Long White Cloud to the Land of the Rising Sun Sonkei, respect. This lager was humbly brewed with the utmost reverence for its ingredients, and Japan. It is a celebration of subtlety and restraint. Delicate, light, crisp, refreshing, and harmoniously balanced with just the right amount of zesty Yuzu citrus. You don't need to take off your shoes, but please, drink respectfully.

If you've been mowing your super-long lawn, running super-fast, or out in the super-hot sun, you'll need to super-quench your super-thirst. This Pacific Pilsner has been dry-hopped with NZ and US hops to make it super-tasty, while it's light body and crisp finish make it super-refreshing. At just 4% ABV, and 40% lower in carbs, you can feel slightly-smug, too.

Fire Horse is this year's annual fresh hop release from Epic. Using fresh Riwaka hops from Eggers Hop Farm in upper Moutere, the hops are picked at peak condition and flown same day from farm to brewery, then brewed the same day while their oils and aromatics are at full intensity. This narrow harvest window is the only time a beer like this can be made during the year - capturing freshness, energy, bold juice and aroma that simply doesn't exist outside the season.
